Description

Lucy: A Ladybug’s Life

In the beginning, God created all the animals, all the creepy, crawly things…and all the ladybugs! Join Lucy the Ladybug on a journey through her simple yet amazing life. Along the way, you’ll learn interesting facts about ladybugs, as well as some fascinating lessons she quietly illustrates about our Creator and the Christian life.

This book contains two sections: the story, which communicates facts about ladybugs and weaves in truths from the Gospel, and a section for parents, which is made up of questions, answers, and Scripture verses to help parents interact with their children about more Gospel truths and practical applications of Biblical principles. This is a fun, yet educational story, that is sure to be interesting and engaging for children of various ages.

This is such an amazing book! Brightly colored, wonderfully visual, and filled with great vocabulary for young readers, it makes for a perfect read-aloud. The photographs are stunning, and the fun facts every few pages provide awesome tips and topics for further study. What I appreciated most was the clear, straightforward Biblical teaching, especially the presentation of the Gospel near the end of the book. I look forward to more of these children’s books from Kayla!

Kayla White has written a delightful book. It’s a must read for all who desire to see the glory of God in creation – and specifically in the Ladybug. You will enjoy the science. You will be thankful for the theological connections to the science. You will be helped to see how wonderful God is to create the Ladybug. Get ready for a treatise on the wisdom and power and beauty of God in His creation. You will be pleasantly surprised by the Ladybug.

I am happy to have Lucy the Ladybug in my Grandma’s bookbag for grandchildren reading time. I am delighted when I can find a book that combines spiritual and educational and holds the children’s interest. Lucy the Ladybug did that with my grandchildren. Having a name for the ladybug seemed to draw the children into the story, and then they quickly picked up on the essentials of a ladybug’s life. The spiritual analogies at the end of the book for the children are great.
